Putting Family First in Times of Crisis

How you helped Scott show up for his father

When Scott, a Navy veteran from the Gulf War, received the sudden news that his father was hospitalized, he dropped everything and immediately flew to Reno. Being with his father was his top priority, but the overwhelming uncertainty of where he would stay in a city far from his Seattle home loomed large.

That’s when you stepped in. Thanks to your generosity, Scott didn’t have to worry about where he would sleep or how he could afford it. Instead, he found comfort at the Guest House, just moments from where his father was receiving critical care.

Reflecting on the experience, Scott shared: "I am eternally grateful to the Guest House for accommodating me at the last minute and at no cost. This would have been a difficult trip to make without your support. My family and I are so thankful to those who make this possible."

Your support doesn’t just provide a bed—it changes moments of fear into stories of hope. Because of you, Scott found strength and support in the warm, inviting home you provided.
