COVID19

Status of the House

As hospitals and medical offices are now seeing more in person patients and surgeries are being rescheduled, the House is welcoming more guests also.  Foremost in our minds and hearts is the health and welfare of guests, staff, and volunteers. For this reason, we are hosting guests while practicing socially-distancing protocols.

Guests:

The number of rooms available has been significantly reduced. In partnership with Sands Regency, all guests in need of overnight lodging have been accommodated. T

If you have a need to use the Veterans Guest House, it is recommended that you call the Guest House. 775-324-6958, x10.  You will be screened by staff to ensure that you meet current requirements. At this time a current negative COVID-19 test is not required to stay but other COVID-19 related criteria must be met. These protocols are in place to protect our guests, many of whom are immune compromised, often receiving cancer treatments or surgery.

Donations/ Meals
In-kind donations can be so helpful to the house and allow us to continue serving our Veterans. Currently, we are in need of the following items:

  • Clorox Wipes
  • Spray Lysol
  • White sugar in packets (no bulk)
  • Cookies

We are not in need of any furniture, clothing or unlisted items at this time.

Gifts of cash may be sent to 880 Locust Street, Reno, NV 89502-0948 or online www.veteransguesthouse.org/donate.

Volunteers
Most volunteer activities have been suspended at this time. We hope to welcome volunteers back soon.
