Future Demand

It covers NINE counties in northern Nevada and EIGHT counties in eastern California; Bishop on the south, Auburn on the west, Elko on the north and Ely to the east. There are over 130,000 veterans living in that area today. Until recently most of the veterans served at the Guest House received care through the VAMC system. The Guest House is branching out to ensure that all veterans and their families are supported regardless of where they receive medical care in the Reno/Sparks area. The forecasted use of the VAMC alone indicates the need for additional housing during the next five to 10 years. The process of determining whether additional facilities are required has been determined and we expect to begin our expansion project in the spring of 2017.
