Funding Priorities

Thank you for your interest in the Veterans Guest House

This is what you can make happen with a grant of $1,000 to $10,000.

As of March 2011, our current funding priorities are:

1. A $1,000 grant would pay for 40 guest nights for Veterans and their family during medical treatment. While the Guest House never turns anyone away for inability to pay, the Guest House does ask for a $25 donation from guest, which only 20% of our guests are able to afford.


2. Electricity and gas are some of the higher operational costs for the Veterans Guest House, a $7,500 grant would pay this utility for the year.


3. A $10,000 grant would assist the Veterans Guest House in remodeling and furnishing the house next door, which was purchased in fall of 2010. This expansion is necessary due to increased need from Veterans and their families receiving medical treatment.

   Remodeling costs are estimated to be between $50,000 and $75,000. We are in the process of finalizing costs.
